Website
design proposal
The website
of the Educational Council on Indic Traditions (ECIT) will be
the central means of communication and outreach for the ECIT.
It will faciliate communication not only with the committees,
also between the ECIT as a whole and the interested public.
It will ideally function as a basis for forming a network of interested
scholars and members of the public, and a resource for both educators,
adherents to Indic traditions and the media. The website
should contain the following features which are accessible from
its homepage:
- Statement of
Mission/Background, with a "Who Are We" Section, with
links to a page for each person, with his or her C.V.
- Survey of Indic
Traditions, with a page for each major tradition
- Discussion
of Indic contributions to World Civilization, with essays and
links to various topics
- Discussion
of Common Stereotypes, with essays and links
- Recommended
list of educational texts, with reviews
- Position Papers
- Media Information,
Press Kit and Information on current and upcoming events
- Interfaith
Dialogue, list of events with links to discussion groups and
other sites
- Links, a general
summary of all links contained in other sections, including links
to other relevant websites and newsgroups
